Why they are a saint
Saint Abramius (Abraham) of Mirozh was the builder and first igumen of the Pskov Savior-Transfiguration monastery on the banks of the River Velika, where it meets the River Mirozha. The Orthodox Church commemorates Abramius on September 24.

Orthodox Christians usually take Abramius as a patron when they bear the name Abramius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on September 24. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
