Saint Acacius the New was a monk at the Holy Trinity monastery of Saint Dionysius of Olympus (January 24) at Zagora. The Orthodox Church commemorates Acacius the Younger of Mount Athos on April 12.

Orthodox Christians usually take Acacius the Younger of Mount Athos as a patron when they bear the name Acacius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on April 12. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
