Alexander of Comana, Bishop of Comana, is kept among the saints. Alexander of Comana; died c. 251, known as Alexander Carbonarius, meaning "the charcoal burner" was Bishop of Comana in Pontus. The Church honors him as a hieromartyr, one who died for Christ.
