Saint Arsen of Iqalto was a translator, researcher, compiler of manuscripts, hymnographer, philosopher, and a great defender of the Georgian Christian Faith. The Orthodox Church commemorates Arsenius of Iqalto on February 6.

Orthodox Christians usually take Arsenius of Iqalto as a patron when they bear the name Arsenius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on February 6. Georgian Orthodox faithful also honor his as one of their own.
