Why they are a saint

Today the Church commemorates the uncovering of the relics of Saint Arsenius of Paros (1800-1877), who was glorified by the Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1967. The Orthodox Church commemorates Arsenius of Paros on August 18.

Orthodox Christians usually take Arsenius of Paros as a patron when they bear the name Arsenius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on August 18. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
