Why they are a saint
Saint Arsenius was born on January 31, 1800 in Ioannina, Epirus of pious Orthodox parents. In holy Baptism he was given the name Athanasius. His parents died when he was quite young.

Orthodox Christians usually take Arsenius of Paros as a patron when they bear the name Arsenius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 31.
