Why they are a saint
Was daughter of Chilperic, younger brother to Gondebald, the tyrannical king of Burgundy, who put him, his wife, and the rest of his brothers, except one, to death, in order to usurp their dominions. The Orthodox Church commemorates Clotildis on June 3.

Orthodox Christians usually take Clotildis as a patron when they bear the name Clotildis at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 3. As a ruler, she is also remembered by those who bear responsibility for others.
