Why they are a saint

Saints Constantine and Cosmas were monastic followers of Saint Barlaam of Khutyn (November 6) and his successor, Saint Anthony of Dymsk (January 17). The Orthodox Church commemorates Constantine and Cosmas on July 29.

Orthodox Christians usually take Constantine and Cosmas as a patron when they bear the name Constantine at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on July 29. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
