Why they are a saint

Saint Crispina lived at Thacora (Tagora) in Africa, and was arrested for professing Christianity. The proconsul Annius Anullinus presided at her trial at Theveste (or Tebessa) in December of 304.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Crispina as a patron when they bear the name Crispina at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on December 5.
