The Holy Martyr Danax lived during the second century and served as reader at a church in Auleneia in Macedonia. The Orthodox Church commemorates Danax the Reader on January 16.

Orthodox Christians usually take Danax the Reader as a patron when they bear the name Danax at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 16. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
