Why they are a saint
Daniel of Moscow was a youngest son of Alexander Nevsky; first prince to make Moscow his lasting seat; founded the Danilov Monastery. The years given for this life are 1261–1303. His feast keeps a life of faith in household and city. This memory is kept in the Russian Church.
