Why they are a saint

Saints Diodorus, Didymus, and Diomedes were born in Laodicea in the fourth century, and suffered martyrdom in that city. The Orthodox Church commemorates Diodorus on September 11.

Orthodox Christians usually take Diodorus as a patron when they bear the name Diodorus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on September 11. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
