Why they are a saint
Martyr Domnica suffered for Christ in the city of Anazarbus during the reign of Diocletian. After severe tortures for Christ, she was thrown in prison, where she died in 286. Venerated as a martyr who died for the faith in Christ.

Orthodox Christians usually take Domnica as a patron when they bear the name Domnica at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on October 12. As a martyr, she is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
