Why they are a saint

The Holy Prince Dovmont (Domant) of Pskov, prince of Nalshinaisk (Nalshensk), was a native of Lithuania, and at first he was a pagan. The Orthodox Church commemorates Dovmont on May 20.

Orthodox Christians usually take Dovmont as a patron when they bear the name Dovmont at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on May 20. As a ruler, he is also remembered by those who bear responsibility for others.
