Why they are a saint
Saint Euboula (Εὐβούλη) fell asleep in the Lord on March 30 around the year 303 in Nicomedia, shortly before the start of a large-scale persecution of Christians by Emperor Diocletian, She and her son, the Great Martyr Panteleimon, (July 27) both suffered during that time. The Orthodox Church commemorates Euboula on March 30.
Patronage / why chosen as patron
Orthodox Christians usually take Euboula as a patron when they bear the name Euboula at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on March 30. Greek Orthodox faithful also honor her as one of their own.
