Why they are a saint

Saint Eubulus, like Saint Adrian, was from Baneas, in Caesarea of Cappadocia. He went to Caesarea to visit Christians in prison, and was arrested by Governor Firmilianus. He was thrown to the wild beasts, and thereby received the crown of martyrdom. Venerated as a martyr who died for the faith in Christ.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Eubulus at Caesarea as a patron when they bear the name Eubulus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on February 3. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
