Why they are a saint

The glorious Martyrs Eudoxios, Agapios, Atticus, Marinus, Oceanus, Eustratios, Karterios, Nikopolitianos, Styrax, and Tobias were all soldiers in the city of Sebaste during the reign of Emperor Licinius. The Orthodox Church commemorates Eudoxios on November 3.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Eudoxios as a patron when they bear the name Eudoxios at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 3. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
