Why they are a saint
Saint Euphrósynos (Euphrósynos) of Pskov, in the world Eleazar, was born in about the year 1386 in the village of Videlebye, near Pskov, the same village where Saint Nikander of Pskov (September 24) had also been born. The Orthodox Church commemorates Euphrosynos on May 15.

Orthodox Christians usually take Euphrosynos as a patron when they bear the name Euphrosynos at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on May 15. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
