Why they are a saint

Venerable Euphrosynus the Abbot and Wonderworker of Pskov († 1481) and his disciple Serapion († 1480) are commemorated by the Orthodox Church on May 15. Venerated as monastic saints, honored for a life of prayer and asceticism; little else about their lives has come down to us.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Euphrosynus as a patron when they bear the name Euphrosynus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on May 15. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.

Prayer

O holy Euphrosynus, pray to God for us.

A short general prayer to a saint, not a liturgical text. No public-domain troparion for this saint is included.
