Why they are a saint

Saint Eupraxia, Princess of Pskov (Euphrosynē in the world), was the daughter of Prince Rogvol'd Borisovich of Polotsk, and the aunt of the holy Prince Dovmont-Timothy (May 20). The Orthodox Church commemorates Eupraxia on October 16.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Eupraxia as a patron when they bear the name Eupraxia at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on October 16. As a ruler, she is also remembered by those who bear responsibility for others.
