Why they are a saint

The Martyrs Eusebius, Neon, Leontius, Longinus, and 40 Others were present at the sufferings of the Great Martyr George (April 23), through which they came to believe in Christ. The Orthodox Church commemorates Eusebius on April 24.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Eusebius as a patron when they bear the name Eusebius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on April 24. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
