Why they are a saint

According to an ancient manuscript Hemerologion (Ημερολογιον), Saint Euthymios was born in the second half of the XIV century. The Orthodox Church commemorates Euthymius on April 18.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Euthymius as a patron when they bear the name Euthymius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on April 18. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
