Why they are a saint

Saint Evdemoz led the Georgian Orthodox Church in the mid-17th century during the reign of King Rostom-Khan (1632-1658), a Georgian who had converted to Islam. The Orthodox Church commemorates Evdemoz on October 4.

Orthodox Christians usually take Evdemoz as a patron when they bear the name Evdemoz at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on October 4. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
