Ezekiel is kept on the calendar as an Old Testament prophet. Ezekiel, also spelled Ezechiel was an Israelite priest. The Book of Ezekiel is among the great writing prophets, visions given among the exiles in Babylon. Orthodox Christians honor the prophets as those who spoke the word of God and pointed toward Christ.
