Why they are a saint

Germanus of Auxerre served as Bishop of Auxerre. Germanus of Auxerre was a western Roman clergyman who was bishop of Autissiodorum in Late Antique Gaul. Holy hierarchs are venerated because they guarded the faith and shepherded a local church. The faithful ask his prayers as they do of the bishops who shepherded the Church.
