The Holy Martyrs Nazarius, Gervasius, Protasius and Celsus of Milan suffered during the reign of the emperor Nero (54-68). The Orthodox Church commemorates Gervasius on October 14.

Orthodox Christians usually take Gervasius as a patron when they bear the name Gervasius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on October 14. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
