Why they are a saint

In the year 914 a certain prince by the name of Michael-Gobron distinguished himself in a battle against the Arab Muslim invaders. The Orthodox Church commemorates Gobron on November 17.

Orthodox Christians usually take Gobron as a patron when they bear the name Gobron at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 17. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
