Why they are a saint
She was a maiden of fifteen who lived with her parents in the Christian enclave of Sinope in Pontus during the 1700s. The Orthodox Church commemorates Helen of Sinope on November 14.

Orthodox Christians usually take Helen of Sinope as a patron when they bear the name Helen at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 14. As a martyr, she is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
