Why they are a saint

Saint Julius was born in 330 on the island of Aegina to wealthy and pious parents who nurtured him in the discipline and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). The Orthodox Church commemorates Julius of Aegina on January 31.

Orthodox Christians usually take Julius of Aegina as a patron when they bear the name Julius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 31. Greek Orthodox faithful also honor his as one of their own.
