Why they are a saint

The Church keeps the feast of Kentigern, first Bishop of Glasgow. Kentigern, known as Mungo was a missionary in the Brittonic Kingdom of Strathclyde in the late sixth century, and the founder and patron saint of the city of Glasgow. Orthodox Christians remember him as a hierarch who kept the apostolic faith in his see.

Orthodox Christians usually take Kentigern as a patron when they bear the name Kentigern at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 14. As a bishop, he is also remembered by clergy and those who serve the Church.
