Why they are a saint

Saint Kevin (Coemgen) was born in Leinster in the early decades of the sixth century, the age of Saints Columba (June 9), Columbanus of Luxeuil (November 21), Comgall of Bangor (May 10), Finnian of Clonard (December 12), Kieran of Clonmacnoise (September 9), and many other great saints. The Orthodox Church commemorates Kevin of Glendalough on June 3.

Orthodox Christians usually take Kevin of Glendalough as a patron when they bear the name Kevin at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 3. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
