Why they are a saint

Ludmilla was a grandmother and educator of St. Wenceslaus; strangled for the faith. She is a patron of Czech lands with her grandson. The years given for this life are c. 860–921. The Church venerates her for dying rather than deny Christ; the New Calendar feast is September 16.
