Why they are a saint

The Martyr Luppos lived at the end of the III Century - beginning II Century, and was a faithful servant of the holy Great Martyr Demetrios of Soluneia (Thessalonika, Comm. The Orthodox Church commemorates Lupus on August 23.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Lupus as a patron when they bear the name Lupus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on August 23. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
