The righteous sisters Martha and Mary were believers in Christ even before He raised their brother Saint Lazarus (October 17) from the dead. The Orthodox Church commemorates Martha and Mary on June 4.

Orthodox Christians usually take Martha and Mary as a patron when they bear the name Martha at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 4.
