Holy Martyrs Meletius the General, Stephen, John, Serapion the Egyptian, Callinicus the Sorcerer, Theodore and Faustus and with them 1218 Soldiers with their women and children († c. 218) are commemorated by the Orthodox Church on May 24. Venerated as martyrs who died for the faith in Christ; little else about their lives has come down to us.

Orthodox Christians usually take Meletius the General as a patron when they bear the name Martyrs at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on May 24. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
