Why they are a saint

Saint Micah of Radonezh was one of the first disciples of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, and lived with him in the same cell, and under his guidance he attained a high degree of spiritual perfection. The Orthodox Church commemorates Micah on May 6.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Micah as a patron when they bear the name Micah at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on May 6. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
