Why they are a saint

Saint Moses lived in the Kiev Caves Monastery during the XIII-XIV centuries, and was completely dedicated to God. The Orthodox Church commemorates Moses on July 28.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Moses as a patron when they bear the name Moses at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on July 28. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
