Why they are a saint

Saint Moses Macinic was ordained to the holy priesthood in Bucharest around 1746, and worked to oppose the Unia. The Orthodox Church commemorates Moses on October 21.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Moses as a patron when they bear the name Moses at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on October 21. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
