New Hieromartyrs Priests Nicholas, Alexis and Alexis; Deacon Symeon; Venerable Martyr Peter; and Venerable Martyr Sophia († 1938) are commemorated by the Orthodox Church on February 15. Venerated as new martyrs who gave their life for Christ in more recent centuries; little else about their lives has come down to us.

Orthodox Christians usually take Nicholas and companions as a patron when they bear the name Nicholas at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on February 15. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
