Why they are a saint

The Righteous Noah is mentioned in the Book of Genesis (chapters 5-9). Seeing the wicked deeds of men, God decided to destroy man from the earth, and even cattle, reptiles, and birds. But Noah found favor with the Lord, Who spared him, his sons and their wives. Venerated as righteous, one who pleased God by a holy life in the world.

Patronage / why chosen as patron

Orthodox Christians usually take Noah as a patron when they bear the name Noah at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on December 15.
