Why they are a saint
Saint Philip of Rabanga was the founder of the Savior-Transfiguration monastery, near Kadnikov to the northeast of Vologda. The Orthodox Church commemorates Philip of Rabanga on November 15.

Orthodox Christians usually take Philip of Rabanga as a patron when they bear the name Philip at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 15. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
