Why they are a saint

Saint Prochorus of Pshina pursued asceticism in the Bransk wilderness at the River Pshina, and he founded a monastery there. The Orthodox Church commemorates Prochorus on January 15.

Orthodox Christians usually take Prochorus as a patron when they bear the name Prochorus at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on January 15. As a monastic, he is also asked for help in prayer, fasting, and repentance.
