Saint Prosper (Prosper Tiro), "The Eradicator of Heresies," as Saint Photios (February 6) calls him, was born in the Aquitaine around the year 390. The Orthodox Church commemorates Prosper of Aquitaine on July 7.

Orthodox Christians usually take Prosper of Aquitaine as a patron when they bear the name Prosper at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on July 7.
