The Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril, Teacher of the Slavs (named Constantine—upon his assuming of the Schema), and his older brother Methodius (Comm. The Orthodox Church commemorates Repose of Saint Cyril on February 14.
Patronage / why chosen as patron
Orthodox Christians usually take Repose of Saint Cyril as a patron when they bear the name Repose at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on February 14. As an apostle, he is also asked to pray for missionaries and those who spread the Gospel.
