Why they are a saint

Saint Job, the first Patriarch of Moscow, was born into the family of pious tradesmen in Staritsa near Tver in the 1530s. The Orthodox Church commemorates Repose of Saint Job on June 19.

Orthodox Christians usually take Repose of Saint Job as a patron when they bear the name Repose at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 19. As a bishop, he is also remembered by clergy and those who serve the Church.
