Why they are a saint
Holy Royal Passion-bearers Tsar Nicholas, Tsaritsa Alexandra, Crown Prince Aleksy, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia and those killed with them († 1918) are commemorated by the Orthodox Church on July 4. Venerated as right-believing ruler, honored for a holy life lived in a position of power; little else about their lives has come down to us.
