Why they are a saint

Saints Orentios, Pharnakios, Erotas, Phirmos, Phirminos, Kyriakos, and Longinus were brothers, who were known for their courage and served as soldiers in Thrace during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. The Orthodox Church commemorates Seven Martyred Brothers: Orentius on June 24.

Orthodox Christians usually take Seven Martyred Brothers: Orentius as a patron when they bear the name Seven at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on June 24. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
