Why they are a saint

Saint Sopatra of Constantinople was the daughter of the emperor Mauricius (582-602). She was inclined towards monasticism, and met Saint Eustolia in the church of the Most Holy Theotokos at Blachernae.

Orthodox Christians usually take Sopatra of Constantinople as a patron when they bear the name Sopatra at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 9. Greek Orthodox faithful also honor his as one of their own.
