Why they are a saint

The Holy Martyr Theodore of Antioch, a fifteen-year-old youth, was condemned to fierce torments by the emperor Julian the Apostate (361-363). The Orthodox Church commemorates Theodore of Antioch on November 23.

Orthodox Christians usually take Theodore of Antioch as a patron when they bear the name Theodore at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on November 23. As a martyr, he is also asked for courage and faithfulness under trial.
