Saint Theodore, Prince of Ostrog, gained fame with the construction of churches and by his defense of Orthodoxy in Volhynia against the encroachment of Papism. The Orthodox Church commemorates Theodosius on August 11.

Orthodox Christians usually take Theodosius as a patron when they bear the name Theodosius at baptism, or were born or baptized near the feast on August 11. As a ruler, he is also remembered by those who bear responsibility for others.
